Stanford 10 and PALs Testing

During the week of May 12 - 16 we will be giving our students the Stanford 10 standardized tests. It is very important for our students to come well-rested and well fed. We want them to show what they know and do their best on these important tests. Please remind them to take their time and really concentrate and focus on each part of every test. They have worked hard all year and we want these test results to reflect their accomplishments and achievements. The following week, students will take the PALs reading tests. These are also standardized tests and will show the progress our primary students have made in reading this year.

Teacher Appreciation Week

May 12 - 16 is Teacher Appreciation Week! Our church and our PTF have planned some special events for our teachers to show how much we appreciate them. We have a wonderful staff and we are thankful for their love of Jesus and His children. Thank you, parents and family members, for all your support for our teachers. We make a terrific team!

Last Week for Bible Club

Yesterday, May 8th, was the last meeting of our Bible Club. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. McElheney have thoroughly enjoyed meeting with our boys and girls each week to study Gods Word and to learn more about Jesus love for us. We are thrilled to announce that we had children give their hearts to Jesus during Bible Club meetings. This is the most rewarding experience any of us can share with these precious children. We are thankful to have had this awesome opportunity and responsibility.

Thank YOU for Dont Rock the Boat Success

Thank you, thank you to all who worked so hard to help make Dont Rock the Boat a HUGE success! Our PTF did an AWESOME job of setting up a FANTABULOUS dessert buffet! Parents helped by providing materials for the incredible set, family members built the set and made costumes, community members set up lights, a parent created the program, parents worked the sound, parents took pictures and made a DVD, and parents, students, and staff worked more hours than anyone can count to present a professional performance. This was a total OBS school community effort and everyone should be proud of the outcome. We regretted that everyone was unable to attend. Who would have ever thought we would have reached fire code capacity! Thanks again to ALL who made this special event possible.
